Is my Supra age appropriate ?
The year is 2003, I own a young after-market parts business and I decide to build a show car to promote my shop. Although i was a European car fanboy, the “Fast and Furious” revenue steered me to build the Supra. That being said the Toyota Supra grew on me and showed me that there we a number of great cars being built all over the world.
Present day- I am now 33 years old and I am back in my prior career of finance. I am now wondering, Do I really need a car this flashy and needy ?
Anyone who has built a show car knows the trials and tribulations of trying to use these cars regularly.
- Can I get in that driveway?
- Can I park on this street ?
- Can I leave it at the parking lot ?
- The numerous cleaning and detailing sessions.
- No trunk space.
- Too much attention at each red light.
- Answering questions are great, until you have to answer the same one 15 times.
- Would my future in-laws appreciate the beauty of carbon fiber?
- Will my new euro-cut suit match my 4″ Apexi Exhaust ?
- Will my groceries fit next to my 12″ Subwoofers in the trunk?
Although I have other daily drivers, isn’t the point to enjoy it every time out ? Although I have NO plans on selling the Supra, I am now searching for a daily driver that will get the blood boiling like my Supra does.
On the other hand, am I making too big of a deal ? Should I continue driving the Volvo and just “suck it up” ?
